- •FM patients exhibited higher ventricular lactate levels at baseline than healthy controls.
- •Milnacipran reduced both ventricular lactate and pain in FM compared to placebo and controls.
- •Reductions in pain and ventricular lactate were found to be related non-linearly.
- •It is hypothesized that milnacipran works by targeting central inflammatory states in FM.
